When I had gone inside the town, I felt as if I had entered into the pages of an ancient history book. The environment was in rather stark contrast to the sophisticated sheen of La Croisette; it was real not fake; it was rural not urban, and it had a life.
Finding Something Special : The Other Side Of Cannes
Le Suquet was soon listed among places I enjoyed getting to know better. It is more peaceful and more personal, quite the place to get lost wandering the lies of ancient old Cannes. Le Sud is made more lovely by Europe’s narrowest hill climbing street Rue Saint Antoine which is full of bistros and shops.
I came across this really small coffee shop that made the most heavenly croissants you could ever have, golden, flaky and hot from the oven. At a small courtyard table, I had my breakfast and watched people go by and felt remarkably satisfied.
One of the highlights of Le Suquet is definitely the view from the very top of the hill, where one can find Musée de la Castre and the 11th-century church Notre-Dame d’Espérance.
It’s a spectacular view from this higher viewpoint amongst the buildings of the town Cannes over the sea. The other place that you should consider coming to is Watch Tower. As you climb up the tower, see to it that you do this for sunset as what the sun does to the city is enchanting.

For the tourists who come to Cannes, no day goes by without spending time on one of its lovely beaches. I liked the less crowded, and therefore much more relaxed, la Salle des Plage du Midi public beach than the private beach clubs. If you don’t mind spending money though, you will get a better experience renting a sun bed on the private beaches along La Croisette – waiters and plush loungers are provided.

Delightful Lerins Islands are also in striking magnificence and offer clear blue waters, and serene hiking terrains. Or one can travel to the neighboring Antibes city with much more respectable fortunes – its old town and the remarkable Picasso museum.
Practical Tips: Getting Around Cannes
One of the advantages of visiting Cannes, is that one does not require any assistance while moving around the city since it is quite possible to walk. For me, it was easier to get to most of the attractions. It is easy to start. Exploring the city is beautiful by foot.
Coworking places also provide clean and effective public transportation for local attractions at a very low cost bus. Places like Lerins Islands ferry terminal or some other farther beaches can be reached by public buses.
To the people attending and visiting Cannes during the film festival, it should be noted that this time around the city gets very crowded and prices for lodging, eating and other activities can be really high.
But the rush of Top 10 can only be the breathtaking moments of the event itself which includes many red carpets, promotions, and even seeing stars.
The most appropriate period for visiting Cannes would be exclusively from late May to September due to good weather.
