So pour yourself a cup of watery liquid and strap yourself into your seatbelt – For this post, I’m going to share with you all the highlights of my travels, as if we’ve been having a conversation at breakfast, right at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.

The Best 5 Budget-Friendly Rest. in the Vicinity of the Eiffel Tower

Eiffel Tower

In Paris, (even more so around touristy spots, like the Eiffel Tower) one often struggles to find quality food within reasonable prices. Well, at least I am sure that is not the case. I promise you, there are bargains that permit you the luxury of fine French dining without breaking the bank.

I will guide you to 5 of the top line inexpensive food places near the Eiffel Tower offering great atmosphere and views along with the most important thing – good food.

1. Café Constant

It is worth experiencing the remarkable Café Constant situated in the 7th district just a few minutes away from the Eiffel Tower. Owned and operated by chef Christian Constant, the restaurant is a skillful combination of French rusticity and fine cuisine, at very low rates for this part of town.

Ceiling is low, coziness provided by a well designed gallery and an informal bar atmosphere is inviting. Let’s skip the pleasantries and dive into the good stuff – the refreshments. I ordered roast chicken. In fact, it was succulent, juicy and simply the most French comfort food I have ever tasted, which is what I wanted.

Duck Confit is another popular dish here which has a high success rate and for good reason. The best thing? The ruckus will cost you about €20 – 25 and it is quite reasonable given the cuisine and its wonderful location.

Nearby Landmarks: It is within the vicinity of Rue St Dominique which is within a few meters from Place de Sydney and the Eiffel Tower itself. After lunch, one can easily take a romantic walk along the Seine to digest the meal taken.

2. Le Champ de Mars

Le Champ de Mars

If you want to relish the old Parisian café experience then Le Champ de Mars is among the best restaurants near Eiffel tower within budget. Situated approximately five minutes’ walk from the tower and is west of it, this brasserie has magnificent views of the iron lady as one eats.

The other site is not especially difficult and is filled with French classics such as croque monsieur and quiche lorraine. What I loved about this place the most – the outdoor terrace – close your eyes and visualize yourself enjoying a bowl of café au lait with the Eiffel Tower in the peripheral view.

Meals here range off season from €12-18 which is especially good for this kind of a place when one has only limited time for a good meal. The icing on the cake is that the staff is very cordial, which definitely has a great value.

Nearby Landmarks: you can visit Place de la Bourdonnais which is close by and after finishing your meal, the champ de mars gardens are a short walk away.

3. Bistrot De La Tour Eiffel

This small bistro serves up the most culinary selection at a very low price in close proximity to the tower. The Bistrot de la Tour Eiffel is quite effortless featuring French dishes. I went for the steak-frites which were just right in every aspect and, with a glass of house red to wash it down, I thought this was what it meant to be a Parisian.

The decor is basic, but the quality of the food is amazing considering the low rates. One can easily have a regular meal here costing around €18–22, and if you want a proper French experience, this is the place to be.

Nearby Landmarks: Very close to the Eiffel Tower and the Trocadéro Gardens, it is an ideal place for a lunch break in between the sightseeing tour.

4. La Piccolina

Anyhow, let’s return to the topic of Italian cuisine, which you can easily access while walking around Paris. This is a go-to Italian restaurant that will cure all such cravings. If you are looking for authentic Italian food in Paris, especially pizza, this restaurant is the place to be.

Their location is 5 minutes away from the Eiffel Tower. However, it is its affordability and friendly environment that set La Piccolina apart.

I had the Margherita pizza from their menu and I must say, the fresh mozzarella and basil took me to Naples. They cost around 10-15 euros, which for the place is quite cheap. La Piccolina does not disappoint if you are searching for a light meal in the lunch hour or a heavy dinner.

Nearby Landmarks: Just a few footsteps away from the Eiffel Tower and The River Seine, it is ideal for an intimate dinner just before going to view how the tower twinkles at night.

5. L’Ami Jean

L’Ami Jean

To finish, if you are looking for a decent real French food experience and don’t want to be fleeced in your wallet, then make a visit to L’Ami Jean. This Basque bistro is a little bit off the beaten tourist path, though still a short distance from the Eiffel Tower, which helps to give it a more authentic feel, especially to non tourists.

I went with the set lunch menu, at €25, which is simply great value and came with lots of excellent food. The plates are strong, inventive and dominant on taste. For me, the star of the meal was their signature slow cooked pork, succulent and tender; I would come back simply for that. It is one of those places that is so perfect simply because you are looking to be away from people and would like to have a nice rich meal in silence.

Nearby Landmarks: The parks around the Eiffel Tower, as well as the Champs de Mars, offer you plenty of options for a walk after your meal.

My Personal Experience with These Parisian Gems

Parisian Gems

They all represented, in a way or another, a side of Paris that I enjoyed and loved very much. For instance, at Café Constant, I enjoyed my meal away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists, in a people’s beloved bistro.

I had the most breathtaking view at Le Champ de Mars, as I sat down to lunch with the Eiffel Tower glistening in the distance. And believe me, it felt like living in a postcard watching people come and go at La Piccolina from the inside.

I think what appealed most about all of them, and where the beauty and elegance is added even more, was how affordable they were – and it was not only the geographic position but the prices as well.

This is because Paris has been built and overrated in some ways as a too expensive city, yet these places make it possible to have great native and mouth-watering food without taking a second mortgage.

My suggestion?

Don’t try to satisfy yourself with just one, or two, or three of these during your visit. Everyone is different – in one way or another, be it the atmosphere, dishes, or even the spectacular sights. While at it, simply appreciate the beauty that is Paris.
