Traveling in royal time

Honestly, If you have ever wished to capture the essence of the fairytale world then, Versailles is a place. It will not take them long to reach as only a short distance by train is there to cover. Just looking at the palace’s size is simply astonishing.

The palace features 700 rooms, including the magnificent Hall of Mirrors, adorned with stunning chandeliers and intricate artwork. Why Do I Recommend It?

I grew awed history while ambling through the Hall of Mirrors, further pondering the kings and queens who were once fissured within its wooden frame. It becomes much clearer when I look at the gardens stocked with trimmed two- and three-foot tulips and countless other perfectly manicured flowers that comprise the perfect area for lounging around.

A Painter’s Paradise

Art lovers should never leave Giverny, which is the place where Claude Monet spent a large part of his life. His residence and gardens are a breathtaking tribute to his frauen kunst, especially the famous, warfare water lily pond.

The highlight of this amazing location is the scenic Monet’s Garden which has many beautiful landscapes in addition to many famous flower beds and the famous water lily pond which is said to have inspired many of his renowned pieces.

The art galleries which are loved by many can be seen around the beautifully kept gardens that represent Monet’s love for nature and art along with artistic pieces of work around his beautifully preserved house. Opening around the end of March, the place remains ready for visits until November, with the best time of visit being spring and summer.

My Personal Experience

As I walked around the gardens, I felt like I had entered a Monet painting. Everything was so vibrant and peaceful, I ended up setting my mirthful fingers on paper as well since everything was so striking!

3. Chartres Cathedral

A Gothic Masterpiece

The Cathedral of Chartres is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and it is a little more than an hour from Paris. The detailed stained glass windows and sculptures are simply brilliant.

The stunning Chartres cathedral which is also known as the Cathedral of Our Lady of Chartres is one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture situated in the town of Chartres which is about 80 kilometers southwest of Paris. Constructed between 1194 and 1230 and famous for its interesting stained glass windows, the cathedral has about 160 remaining glass panels that are striking with many of them dating back in the 12th and the 13th century.

These etched biblical scenes as well as saints illustrations. When speaking of the two towers , they are none like the other as each one has a different shape, and place and an eye length of sight between 65 and 105 m. It also features a collection of fine sculptures as well as carvings all of which contribute to its ideas and not only.

In 2000, the site was recognized for its amazing architecture and was included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and today is still a popular destination to tour for those who have historical significance as well as are pious. The cathedral is open to visitors throughout the year, and as part of narrated clerical walks, they are taken through the building in order to get better understanding of the magnificent structures, events that took place there over the many years and outstanding works of art.

Pricing: There is no entry fee but hiring a guide costs approximately 10 euros.

My Personal Experience

The 12th-century stunning stained glass inside the cathedral fortune together left me in utter shock. Apparently, the saying goes that light in this area is different, and I couldn’t agree more, it was unusual in a dramatic way.

4. Normandy – D-Day Beaches

History Takes Effect

Visiting this historic location which is Normandy at the very least has to be rated as a ten on the Emotional-Seeking Scale, particularly with strategy enthusiasts considering the times that matter.

The D-Day beaches in Normandy France are located along the coast; were also famous historical sites during the Second World War, particularly during the allied invasion on the 6th of June 1944. The D-Day memorial beaches have five sectors namely: Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword.

The beaches are commemorated to the gallantry and the bravery of the troops that landed there. Today, there is much to see at various sites such as museums, memorials and even cemeteries, notably the Omaha Beach American Cemetery, which sheds light on the heroic events that took place on the D-Day.

Normandy’s D-Day Beaches are open to the public and those who would want to see more about the events of that day as well as history lovers can always visit the site.

My Personal Experience

I had tears forming in my eyes, seated at the location where the brave men and women stood their ground and most shall I say give up their lives in order to do what they thought was right, On this instance, even the guides were extraordinary as they told stories of the past and I should admit that I have respect for the people who fought their battles then.

5. Mont Saint-Michel

A Amusing Island

Mont St Michel is perhaps one of the most widely recognized monuments in France. This town rises out of the waters of the sea and is a sight to behold along with an ancient abbey built back in the 8 century.

It is also important to note that the island is home to the Abbey of Mont Saint Michel, the site is called a world heritage site, the structure itself which is fascinating to look at has gothic, Romanesque and medieval styles and it is situated at an elevation of 92 meters.

People can also visit the narrow pathways filled with shops, historical buildings and restaurants as well as set foot on the terrace of the abbey where they can see magnificent views. Mont Saint-Michel is open throughout the year and is a great place for people who are interested to learn the history of one of the landmarks of France.

While the streets were narrow while climbing Monte Saint-Michel, that was the case so I felt as though I was in an entirely new world, almost medieval.
